Babies and Gentlemen!
We have now been on tour with AC/DC in Australia for quite some time. It`s a long trek and very few shows. You Knowers of The Hives know that this drives us slightly crazy since we are used to playing all the fucking time when we are on tour. I guess you could argue that we are getting the same amount done since each of these 9 shows hold about 60 000 people. Do the math kids.
What a magical land this is! Our approximately 1200 days off have been filled to the brim with enjoyment. I cannot disclose all details but there has been all sorts of adventures across mountains and through seas, with and without wine, and high and low and expensive and cheap thrills. We even saw some shows since we were not, as is our habit, playing rock at that hour. Tame Impala, Future Islands, Belligerents, Vapor Bats and etc etc and so on and so on, plus a little rock outfit called fucking AC/DC!!!! It`s been a real treat for us to see these giants on stage this many times. "Thats some Top Shelf Rock n Roll right there" we say to each other as we reminisce about childhood days of sneaking into brothers rooms and using their turntables even though you were not supposed to, or hammering pots and pans into submission.
I have not eaten a bad meal or had a bad tasting drink since we got here. It`s insane. It`s all delicious! Actually there was this one time on the way up to Perth from the sticks where there was a gas station. Eeewwwww.
Right now we are in Melbourne preparing for the last shows that will take place here. Actually preparing, I dunno, pros like us could rip this shit coming straight out of a hole in the ice with our legs tied behind our backs and a towel over our heads, but that`s just us.
We have been DJing in each state and it`s been fun as shit. I think everyone who was there told their friends these exact same words. That`s what I hear. I am gonna see if I can score some pictures for you who weren`t. I know DJing is best experienced aurally and not visually. Hmmm....Maybe I can put together a playlist of all the badass party music we spun like a comforting yarn sweater around our beloved punters. We shall see.
I got a text from Dr. Matt just now asking how we are doing and containing a joke (the J is soft if you are Swedish) of a type we used to crack in the van way back in the way back machine. I will keep it to myself.
Fly your flags high my children,
Onwards and upwards,

Today me and Dr Johan went to seep in some culture and by that I mean proper Brisbane culture ie The Saints. In the glorious weather we made our way over to the corner of Milton and Petrie where the Saints had their own Club 76 right opposite those days police station. We think we saw the right house if it still stands today otherwise we were at least very close to the actual location. After that we headed over to Brisbanes West end where the Im stranded single was recorded. Since we did not have any idea where that studio was located we just hung around there for a while feeling the atmosphere. In an hour we leave for the QSAC Stadium where we are playing tonight w AC/DC. Life could be worse…

Ah the sweet feeling of sitting down on the stairs getting creative and semipretentious w some grip tape and a new Hives deck. I reckon my grip tape job scores about a 3 out of 5 on the semi classic grip tape job scale. The deck is the coolest thing I have ever owned and quite possibly the coolest thing ever made.
Today was a good day!
