Well, I didn't actually met the band, I just went to one of their gig in France, but it was just FANTASTIC !
I arrived at the festival with som friends, who were mostly there for Babyshambles, and i must admit, i was pretty curious to see what Pete was like ^^ So we waited and waited, singing Hives song, waited some more and saw bbshambles, which disappointed me a lot.. anyway after a while, The Hives came onstage, and that was amazing !
as usual they were great, I didn't see the time go, it was just brilliant !
Well i knew it would be like that, you're never disappointed at a Hives gig ^^
Anyway, know what ? not many people knew The Hives when coming but at the end of the day, they were all fan ! ^^
Long Live The Hives ! god Save The Hives !
just can't wait to see them again this summer !! :DDD
We love you ! I wish i could follow you all around the world ! :D

Where: Sasquatch

When: After show

So here I am just witnessing one of the best rock shows Sasquatch ever had, past, present and I also suspect future and my wife spots The Hives behind the wooden fence off to the side of the stage after the show. In fact, she almost confused the wooden fence for another of the Sasquatch bands but thats another story for another time. This awful wooden fence was unfortunatley separating us from the wonderful Hives but they were friendly enough to point out that this wooden thing wasnt the next band, but in fact a wooden fence to protect The Hives from agressive femailes and they then came over to chat. So we wave and several of The Hives wave back. We exchange some "you rock" banter with "we know we rock" responses and it was a wonderful moment. I told you guys you were the best band all weekend but you knew that already. And I knew you knew that because of the way you rocked and the look in your eyes that said "we rock". On the way out I showed my wife a mint 70s Volvo wagon in the parking lot and explained how when Swedes make something they make it to last. Rock on Hives, I'll likely be admiring your work in 30 years too because you guys are timeless and built to last.

Where: Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA

When: May 24, 2008

I have been to countless shows over my lifetime and by far seeing The Hives was the best concert I have ever experienced! They showed Edmonton what a REAL rock concert is about. They certainly lived up to their title of "Best live rock band in the world"! Their explosive energy, engagement with the crowd, humorous antics and plain out damn good music made it an experience like no other.

My boyfriend and I were lucky enough to secure a spot right front and center. We anticipated getting crushed to death against the barricade and that's exactly what happened! But I was having way too much fun to notice the pain! Plus, I felt like I was the luckiest person there because of where I was standing. Pelle and Nicholaus are so great at interacting with the crowd and I can say there were many instances where I got to interact with the guys.

Nicholaus kept me in stitches with the crazy faces he made, the continuous creepy licking of his lips and humping of his guitar! This was always done a few feet in front of me so I was always laughing.

As for Pelle... we all know he's got quite the sex appeal and he knows how to work it on stage. There were a few instances where I can say he made me blush. I had a perma-smile on my face the entire show and I got the occasional wink from Pelle. He also grabbed my hand a few times and at one point he looked at me straight in the eyes, gestured "come here" with his finger and then grabbed my hand and seductively ran his fingers across my palm. I was like "Uh...Oh dear..." Haha. There were also two times where Pelle jumped onto the top of the barricade right in front of me. I was literally in between his legs. I was holding onto his legs because I was terrified he was going to fall on me because the crowd was trying to pull him in. Luckily that didn't happen.

My favorite part of the night was when there was some jackass in the crowd screaming something rude to the band. I didn't hear what he said, but I know the band wasn't impressed by his words. Pelle stopped the show and said, "Lets hear what the guy in the white shirt has to say!" So he brings the microphone over to the dude and just as he opens his mouth the band simultaneously starts playing loudly on their instruments. At that moment Pelle said, "Oh! I couldn't hear you!!!" They sure told him! It was hilarious! You guys are too awesome!

Overall, the show was incredible. Every member gave it their all. It was the most exhilarating feeling jumping around, going nuts, and singing along to all their greatest hits.

After the show, I was fortunate enough to meet Pelle, Nicholaus, and Chris. My boyfriend and I waited with a handful of other fans outside. It was cold and windy so we were thankful that the guys were kind enough to hang out for a bit, take pics, and sign autographs. I was actually surprised of how calm and mild-mannered they all were. A bit of a contrast to how they are on stage! Pelle was super sweet and had a great sense of humor, Chris was super chill and laid back and Nicholaus was very kind. I didn't get a chance to meet Matt and Carlstroem so hopefully next time! :)

My body has never been so sore with bruises before but it was worth every moment that night! Thanks again for coming to Edmonton and thank you for creating some of the best rock music out there!

Hope to see you soon!

Linda :)
