Black And White band! Black And White photos! A no brainer really.
The exquisite binder of paper and ink that you currently hold in your hands is the first ever issue of THE MONOCHROME CHRONICLE (yes, all capitals). It contains (you guessed it) black and white images and words from Yours Truly, all-time-fave-international-stand-up-guys-and-rock-sensations The Hives and we hope it is the first in a long series of similar products. The idea is to well...discover different corners of Hive Manor, See the Hives crowd as they await their heroes, See The Hives play scrabble or enjoy a cold lager. To show off The Hives in all our motionless Black and White glory in images that may not be accessible to the average Joe/Jane, and have The Hives write a few words to go along while we re at it. The possibilities are endless and the endless possibilities are exciting ! The only thing limiting our creativity is the fact that the page is flat.
Our sincere hope is that this will be a way for us to feel connected to you, Dear Fan, when we are not touring, screaming in your faces, sweating on you or sprinkling your ear canals with sonic shockwaves made of 24 carat monochrome rainbows. So let this be something to have and to hold that you can keep after all your hard drives have crashed. Real shit. Like the love letters between your parents that are not a long deleted email thread. Long live this physical object made from the trunks of trees and the ink of squids.
TMC ISSUE #1 gives you: TOKYO; JAPAN, MALMO; SWEDEN, NEW YORK CITY; USA

RIP BOB CASALE
Today we mourn the tragic loss of Devo guitarist Bob Casale.
We had the pleasure of playing on the same bill as Devo in San Diego and it was a real treat to play together with a band that we have looked up to for so long.
May you rest in peace.

RAV FINDS NEW HOME!
We have received thousands of entries for the Hives RAV (Rock Assault Vehicle) Giveaway, and it has been hard to agree on a winner. Before we announce this lucky new owner, we want to say to all you bands who wanted to use the RAV to tour Europe or anywhere else, and to you kind people who wanna use it to bring fresh water to African villages and all of the other incredible causes: unfortunately but maybe of some consolation, the RAV is just too far gone to perform such tasks. It is barely holding together, which is why we have decided to donate this piece of Hives history to (insert drumroll...) Svenskt Rockarkiv (The Swedish Rock Archives). In these facilities the old RAV can find a new home and being on public display, it will serve as a piece of learning history for youngsters and oldies who pass thru the museum.
In the pictures you can see Swedish Rock Archives Chairman of the board Jonas Bjälesjö touching the handle of the sidedoor and two of his minions washing and bathing old RAV.
As we were on tour when they came to pick it up, the promised pizza party will take place on a future date.
Thanks again for all your entries and best of luck with all your noble causes. We hope to see you further down the line in some other way.
